The Importance of National Health Days
24th June 2014On Tuesday night Frayne Mathijs gave us an insightful presentation on the importance of holding regular National Health Days. She is very instrumental and involved in the ongoing planning of the NHI and is passionate about the health of all the people of South Africa. Difficult challenges such as transport to health services, cost of medical aid and affordability remain amongst our people especially in rural areas and less privileged communities.
The annual Rotary Family Health Days (RFHD) initiative is a great way to offer basic health services in partnership with the Department of Health, various NGO’s, and the private sector. Ordinary Rotarians and volunteers from the medical fraternity across South Africa remain committed in helping to build a healthier nation into the future through their involvement with RFHD. We look forward to next year’s roll out of this exciting and worthy project.
