Wheelchair Handover to Mlungisi Khulelkani

The Rotary Club of Bedfordview arranged to hand over a wheelchair to Mlungisi Khulekani recently at the Humanitarian Centre in Bedfordview. In April this year Mlungisi approached the Kathlehong Customor Care Centre to report that his wheelchair he had been using for many years was broken. He was referred to the Physio Department at Natalspruit Hospital where he was put on a waiting list.

His situation was desperate as he needs to travel to Doornfontein on a daily basis to attend classes. Mlungisi was shot in 2003, which left him disabled. His parents passed away and he is left with his younger brother who also attends school. Mlungisi attends Call Centre training in Doornfontein and the brothers survive on his disability grant. It was recommended that he be assisted with a wheelchair as he struggles to move around and cannot afford to buy one with his disability grant.
